Written for Frank DiGiacomo’s family and close friends, these eleven instrumental settings express deeply personal perspectives, events and impressions for and of his loved ones.
No. 1 Starscape was discovered posthumously among Julian R. Pace’s collection of the Composer’s works. The name Starscape was coined by editor Erwin R. Vrooman.
No. 6 A Tribute to Nonna was written about Mr. DiGiacomo’s maternal Grandmother, an immigrant from Calabrian Italy who was deeply loved by the Composer and had a profound influence on his personal development and abiding respect for his background.
No. 10 Garden of Saint Francis was written after an emotional evening visit to a monastery garden in Maine on one of the Composer’s frequent New England trips with his friends, Julian R. Pace and Ira C. Smith.
