dolorosa CU 2

and © 1984 and 2010 Frank DiGiacomo.

A piece full of the power and intensity of the Crucifixion, DiGiacomo’s Mater Dolorosa brings us to the foot of the Cross where the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Magdalene mourn the agony and death of her Beloved Son. The life and passion of Christ was a huge influence on Frank DiGiacomo and his life. He strove as much as he could, by his life and his work, to emulate and glorify Our Saviour. He was a man who “walked the walk” much more than he “talked the talk”. The Mater Dolorosa was written in 1984, is over 15 minutes long and one of his most important compositions.
