The Procession of Elves and Trolls
After the Act One Love Duet, Undine is still hesitant to leave her home and go with the Prince. In the distance, a procession of elves can be heard, singing, drawing ever nearer, accompanying a carriage drawn by trolls. They will bring the Prince to the borders of his own kingdom. Undine still holds back, but after the Prince mounts the carriage, he offers his hand to her. Only then does she accept his promises and joins him. The curtain slowly descends as the carriage and procession leave the lovely glade which has always been Undine’s refuge and her home.
The score was not written down by the Composer, but luckily he made a audio tape recording. We are grateful for the transcription of this scene to Jason Loffredo, www.jasonloffredo.com
The solo is available as sheet music, as an MP3 of the live original recording with Mr. DiGiacomo at the piano, as well as an MP3 rendition of the sheet music. Near the end of the Composer's recording, Griflet, a very discerning four-legged critic, expresses an early bravo! He was one of a long line of distinquished canines whom the Composer loved.
